Ben Hillman & Company is a creative resource working across all media. We put together a team of creative professionals to achieve the best results for each project. Our company includes directors, producers, writers, designers, cinematographers, animators and illustrators and web production experts.
Ben Hillman is a film maker, designer, writer and illustrator who loves political propaganda and Betty Boop.
In his latest foray into moving pictures, Hillman made millions of animated sperm explode onto the screen in Spike Lee's film "She Hate Me." Bursting forth in the middle of a live action flick about a fired corporate whistleblower forced to make a living by impregnating lesbians, these sperm shots combine mixed media of live action, 2D and 3D animation.
Also just completed is an independent musical short called "Little Red Jiving Hood" -- a swinging tale of mystery, destiny, redemption and sukiyaki that has been screened in film festivals and won awards in the US, Europe and Asia.
Hillman's animated short "Cup-O-Abominations," after racing its way through the festival circuit, was featured on England’s Channel 4. Taken straight out of the Book of Revelation, "Cup-O-Abominations" makes the Whore of Babylon come deliciously to life. "Cup-O-Abominations" took the prize for Best Animation at the Honolulu Underground Film Festival as well as garnering awards in Belgium, Canada and the USA.
Hillman's independent animation "Nietzsche Pops" was screened on Bravo and the Independent Film Channel and was aired on MTV's Liquid Television, PBS, La Sept Arte and Kanal 4. Featured in over 40 film festivals around the world, "Nietzsche Pops" has won numerous awards including the Cine Golden Eagle in Washington DC, and First Prize in the Philadelphia International Film Festival and the New Orleans Film Festival.
In addition, Hillman has written and illustrated several picture books including "The Devil Ate My Blintzes" (Waterfront Press) and "That Pesky Toaster" (The Walt Disney Company). Currently he is working on a series of four pictorial science books for children published by Scholastic. The first in the series -- "How Big Is It?" -- is now on the bookshelves, to be followed by "How Strong Is It?", "How Fast Is It?" and "How Weird Is It?."
After obsessing for years about the evils of mass manipulation, Hillman decided to do it himself by forming Ben Hillman & Company -- realizing his boyhood dream of messing with the minds of the general public (as well as making films and writing and illustrating books). He has won numerous awards for print and television commercials including the Art Directors Club, International Advertising Festival and Clio nominations. Clients include PBS, Pfizer, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and the New Amsterdam Brewing Company.
